Traveling to Samae Beach Ko Larn
Samae Beach getting hereTwo boats journeys are required to reach Samae Beach on Ko Larn. As the beach does not boast a pier, it is not possible for the large passenger boat to reach the beach. The boat journey starts from Bali Hai Pier Pattaya. Bali Hai Pier is located in south Pattaya at the end of walking street. The journey costs 150 Baht return and tickets can be bought from the ticket booth, though you are able to pay as you climb aboard. 45 minutes skipping across the Gulf of Thailand and then you have to swap to a smaller boat which then takes you to the Samae beach.
Samae Beach
Samae Beach is not as easy to reach from sea as other beaches on Ko Larn, it is however worth the extra effort. The Beach stretch's for about 1Km and is nicely laid out with beach umbrellas and sun loungers. The sand is soft and white with coral scattered along the shore line. Well built restaurants run along the walking area just meters from the waters edge. Extremely clean toilets and showers are located every 100 meters along the walking area.

Bustling Beach Front
Samae beach appeared to have more visitors than Tawaen beach, which considering the extra costs of travel and the inconvenience of changing boats out at sea makes no sense. There are plenty of seating areas, two sectioned safe swimming areas. Motor bikes are available for hire as well as Jet Skis.
Clean - Safe - Ideal for Family's
The complete area of Samae beach is clean, safe and well run. It may be worth considering if traveling with young children to arrive at the port (with a pier) and take a Baht bus to this beach. This option would also be a cheaper way of arriving at Samae beach. I would see it as a concern to any parent traveling with young children to change boats out at sea. Though the boat crew are on hand and are very helpful.
